I graduated from The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, with a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Science (Neurobiology). I then completed an Honours degree (equivalent to a European Masters degree) in Developmental Biology, also at UQ, graduating with First Class.
It was during my undergraduate degree that I began – and found I enjoyed – proofreading and copyediting manuscripts and grants for a research group at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at UQ. Following graduation from my Honours degree, I went on to become the Executive Science Writer for UQ’s Queensland Brain Institute. Over 4 years, this position provided me with many amazing opportunities and a great deal of experience in writing and editing journal articles, book chapters, annual reports, review articles, applications to government funding and philanthropic bodies and personal profiles. I continue to work for individual research groups within UQ, and recently began providing editing services to international medical writing companies.
My work roles have given me experience in helping both native and non-native English speakers perfect their scientific and academic writing. I provide editing services for all stages of writing – from structuring initial drafts through to final proofreading. My aim is to help you to produce a piece that is clear, concise and interesting! I work hard to provide all of my clients with a high-quality scientific, medical and/or academic editing service. I am happy to discuss any editing job (large or small), am transparent in my pricing structure, and am committed to providing quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
